Hey guys, just wanted to send a quick note about our new addition to the Clean Energy lineup: Orange Mango Extra Strength! We've been working on this one for a while and are beyond stoked to be launching it with our new partners at Circle K, and another big one to be named later!
So look, the truth is in the past we've made flavor decisions based off of what sounds good to us personally (Think: Tart Cherry Ginger), and this time we did something closer to how big companies do it: By analyzing the data. After "Berry," the #2 selling energy shot flavor is always something orange-y.
We actually worked on a straight orange one, but our organic mango puree was the chef's kiss! As you can probably tell by the name, this shot packs a massive punch of 200mg caffeine. But the challenge is smoothing out the flavor of all that caffeine in our tiny 2oz bottle. The mango does a ton of the leg work here.
To be honest, I was pretty worried about how the flavor was gonna come out until we actually made it in the factory. Small-batch samples are a pretty accurate predictor, but you never know exactly what you have until it's rolling off the production line. Jess and I eagerly grabbed the very first ones to come out and gave it a try, both smiling cause we knew we nailed it.
So, why extra strength? Well, the other thing we found in the data is that extra strength energy products are almost always the top sellers. Since we're starting to sit on the shelf next to 5 Hour a lot more, we need to make sure we have something for the true caffeine junkies out there. Speaking as someone in that camp, these shots really do the trick. I've been having great workouts and afternoon productivity with these, all without any of the crash or come-down feeling you get from conventional energy shots.
